Here's an Aerial photo of Lake Melinda from 1995
The lake is clear in the photo and you can see Ken Damon's trailer and the path to the lake from it. Our cottage is just East of the prominance on the south center of the lake although obviously the picture is to old to include it. The outlet of the lake is at the far north corner. Here's a Topo Map of our cottage
I was curious the altitude at our cottage so I went to the USGS site and found this service. Our cottage is at about 1500 feet. For reference, Ithaca is at about 400 feet and Hammond Hill is about 1800 and its peak is 2000'. Victory Hill (marked as Emerson on the map) goes up to 1800 before going down to our lake.
The topo was drawn in 1990 and is old enough that the lake hadn't been created yet. Actually, I think it was a beaver lake and much smaller. Then Red (Ken Damon's father) expanded it greatly. I put the arrow where I think the cottage is next to the lake. It's just to the right of the promonince and just to the left of the streem that goes into the swamp from the south.
